Q. Having trouble downloading the maps?

Most of the maps are in pdf format. If all you get when you click on a link is a small icon or a blank page, the problem is likely that you don't have Acrobat Reader configured to work inside your browser. Try RIGHT clicking on the link. Choose to save the file. Then you should be able to open the file you just saved with Acrobat Reader.

If you'd like to configure Acrobat Reader to automatically start within your Internet browser, the instructions are on Adobe's web site at http://www.adobe.com/support/products/acrreader.html

Q. Getting an "overflow error" when trying to print the maps from Acrobat Reader?

This is a common problem.  It seems to show up most often when trying to print to an HP4 LaserJet.  Try this from within Acrobat Reader:

    Click on File / Print
Make sure the box "print as image" is checked.

Now it should work okay.

Q. The map appears too big for the paper?

That may be because it is. Some of the maps were originally created in a much larger size. To get them to print out on an 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of paper . . . from within Acrobat Reader, click on file, then print. Then in the print menu box, make sure the box labeled "shrink oversized pages to fit paper size" is checked.

Q. How to turn the map sideways to print right?

From within Acrobat Reader, click on File, and then Print. In the print menu box make sure the box labeled "Auto-rotate and center pages" is checked.
